New York, NY

Back Forty West is located in the lower two stories of a brick rowhouse from the turn of the last century in the former home of Savoy. The ground floor features large sliding windows which offer views of the bustling Soho street from perimeter seating and from seats at the long wood-countered bar which gently bends through the space. While the treatment of the ground floor embraces the historic gritty character of Soho, with raw wood and a feature wall which is a palimpsest of plaster and exposed brick, the scale, finishes and furnishings of the second floor dining room are evocative of a more residential farmhouse dining room.
